Lead Carpenter / Handyman – Company Van Provided
About the Opportunity
CSG Operations LLC, doing business as Mr. Handyman of La Jolla – Coastal San Diego, is building its founding field team and looking for an experienced carpenter/handyman who takes real pride in craftsmanship and customer service.
This is a W-2 position for a skilled professional who wants to spend more time doing quality work and less time chasing leads, writing invoices, collecting payments and managing the administrative side of running an independent business.
We provide the customer pipeline, scheduling support, company vehicle, fuel and technology. You provide excellent craftsmanship, professional communication and a job site that is cleaner when you leave than when you arrived.
What You’ll Do
Your anchor skill will be carpentry and door work, including:
- Interior and exterior door installation, adjustment and repair
- Finish carpentry, casing, trim and molding
- Wood and exterior rot repairs
- Deck, fence and general carpentry repairs
- Cabinet and hardware installation
- Drywall patching and general home-repair punch lists
- Residential and light commercial repair work
This is not a narrow carpenter position. We are looking for a multi-skilled home repair professional with exceptional carpentry abilities.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of paid professional experience in carpentry, remodeling or comprehensive home repair; 7+ years strongly preferred
- Strong ability with doors, trim and finish carpentry
- Ability to independently diagnose problems and complete customer-ready repairs
- Professional hand and power tools appropriate for the position
- Strong customer communication skills
- Meticulous job-site protection and cleanup habits
- Comfort using a smartphone or tablet for job notes, photos and communication
- Valid California driver's license and ability to meet company and insurer driving requirements
- Ability to satisfy job-related background and driving-record requirements consistent with applicable law
