We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Commercial Handyman to join our Mr. Handyman team. As a Commercial Handyman, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the functionality of various commercial buildings, ranging from offices to retail spaces. Your exceptional problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in various trades will contribute to the success of our projects. Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repairs on commercial buildings, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting tasks
- Inspect and identify issues with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems, and collaborate with relevant professionals for repairs or replacements
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure buildings are in compliance with safety regulations and perform necessary upgrades or repairs
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and troubleshoot issues efficiently to minimize disruptions in daily operations
- Install, repair, and maintain various fixtures and equipment, including doors, windows, locks, lighting fixtures, and appliances
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization within work areas and storage spaces
- Write, present, and sell your own estimates
Requirements
- Previous experience as a handyman, preferably in a commercial setting
- Strong knowledge and experience in general repairs and maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks
- Solid understanding of building codes, safety guidelines, and regulations
- Ability to operate various hand and power tools safely and efficiently
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting heavy objects and working in tight spaces
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and contractors
- Occasionally, be flexible in work hours as commercial businesses may need after hours work for services that would interrupt employees and/or customers
- Live within Northern Virginia area (preferably within our service territory)
