Your Duties as a Handyman Professional:

As a member of our team, you'll be responsible for:

  • Completing various maintenance and repair tasks for residential and commercial projects, ranging from short-term to multi-day assignments
  • Effectively communicating with customers to understand their needs, manage expectations regarding scope of work and costs, and make appropriate recommendations
  • Cultivating long-term customer relationships by consistently delivering exceptional service that exceeds expectations, following our established processes for customer satisfaction.


Performance Metrics:

Your performance will be evaluated based on:

  • Customer satisfaction scores, measured through Net Promoter Score (NPS) surveys, with emphasis on both response rate and satisfaction level
  • Meeting revenue targets by identifying additional service opportunities and maximizing customer value
  • Maintaining an effective billing rate by accurately invoicing, sourcing materials as needed, and ensuring timely payment collection
  • Recall percentage, ensuring that all work is completed correctly the first time to uphold our one-year work guarantee.


Qualifications for Success:

To excel in this role, you must:

  • Demonstrate self-motivation and the ability to work independently
  • Provide excellent customer service, including soliciting reviews and collecting payments
  • Possess necessary tools and proficiency in utilizing technology
  • Adhere to our established processes, known as the Mr. Handyman Way, and document work accordingly
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and use protective coverings to safeguard customers' homes.


Job Requirements:

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Residing within the designated service area
  • A minimum of 8 years' paid experience as a handyman
  • Ownership of your own tools
  • Insurability for operating company vehicles
  • Successful completion of background and driving record checks
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds independently and work safely at heights or overhead for extended periods
  • Maintaining a professional appearance and upkeep of company-provided vehicles.


As an experienced Handyman, proficiency in at least three of the following areas is required:

  • Carpentry
  • Bathroom and kitchen improvements
  • Interior and exterior painting
  • Drywall repair
  • General plumbing and electrical work (where permitted by law)
  • Floor installation and restoration
  • Knowledge of relevant building codes.


Benefits & Compensation:

The pay for this position ranges from $25 to $35 per hour, commensurate with your experience and expertise in handyman services, as well as other home repair and maintenance projects.
