Job Description

Our Customer Care Representative will be the first point of contact with our customers.   The most important aspect of the customer service representative job is the ability to favorably demonstrate the characteristics customers equate with “professionalism.” This strategy is far more important than the technical aspects of the service because it is the key element that distinguishes Mr. Handyman from its competitors. The CCR will have significant contact with customers and should therefore possess the following characteristics:

  • Punctuality and dependability
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Telephone sales skills
  • Good communication skills, empathy and the ability to listen are critical in this role
  • Interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Prior telephone sales experience
  • Understanding of handyman/home improvement projects is required

The CCR will also possess the following:

  • Experience with building estimates for handyman projects.
  • Selling and upselling projects over the telephone.
  • Prior experience in working with handyman/construction type work.
  • Interact with customers via inbound telephone calls to provide information and assistance.
  • Achieve productivity standards and goals while maintaining the highest level of customer service.
  • Process transactions and reply to inquiries about our services.
  • Record customer interactions, details of inquiries, complaints or comments as well as actions taken.
  • Ability to use a customer service system to manage, track, book and/or troubleshoot customer appointments.
  • Must be familiar with basic computer operations and have experience with word processing, spreadsheets and using Windows-based applications.
  • Ability to manage complex multi-technician schedule.
  • Maintain a balance between company policy and customer benefit in decision making. Handles issues in the best interest of both of customer and company.
  • Continuously evaluate and identify opportunities to drive process improvements that positively impact the customer’s experience.
  • The CCR must possess organizational, administrative, planning and organizational skills.

Our office is located in West Chicago, but we do service the towns of Addison, Bartlett, Downers Grove, Glendale Heights, Hanover Park, Rosella and Warrenville and we service the majority of DuPage and some of Cook county.
